Founded in 1972, the Nacul Center for Ecological Architecture was given this name to emphasize the Center’s dedication to the art and science of building and living in harmony with nature.
The term nacul had been coined only several years earlier by architect Tullio Inglese to reflect the merging of nature and culture.
Nacul Center for Ecological Architecture, Inc. is a 501-c3 non-profit organization. The mission of Nacul Center is to establish, teach and promote a unified theory of ecological architecture. This is achieved primarily by way of our internship/student program, educational workshops and conferences, as well as our pro bono architectural services and affordable generic designs for ecological building.
na·cul [ney-kuhl] noun 1. the art and science of building and living in harmony with nature. Origin: 1968; acronym of nature and culture, coined by architect Tullio Inglese.
